Record of Events: “Since last muster this Company has been busily engaged in guarding the river front and assisting planters in the removal of their slaves and other property from the vicinity of the River. The Company has now a large number of its members absent on sick leave owing to the prevalence of chills & fevers among the men, having no Company Surgeon & it being very difficult to procure proper medicines. The officers are compelled in case of sickness to grant sick leaves & let the men go to their homes where they can receive proper attention. Since last muster a small scouting party from the Company fired on a small body of Federals as they were leaving the shore in a yawl, Killing one man and supposed to have wounded others. (Signed) W.
